Independence Day in India is celebrated as national holiday every year on 15th of August when people remember the long event of independence of our Nation from the British rule. India got independence on August 15th in 1947 after lots of movement of Independence during which many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. After independence, Jawaharlal Nehru became first Indian Prime Minister on 17th of August in 1947 who raised the National Flag at Red Fort near Lahore Gate in Delhi.
Students, teachers, parents and other people come together to celebrate the Independence Day by unfurling the National Flag and singing National Anthem. Out tricolour National Flag is also hosted by the Indian prime minster in the National capital, New Delhi at Red Fort. After that the salute is given by firing 21 guns and tricolour flower showering is held on the flag with helicopter. The tricolour of our Flag represents saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth and green for faith and chivalry.
There is an Ashok chakra in the centre of our Flag which contains 24 spikes distributed evenly. At this special day we remember the great sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Raj Guru, Gandhiji and other dared freedom fighters for their unforgettable contribution in the independence of India. भारत में स्वतंत्रता दिवस हर साल 15 अगस्त को राष्ट्रीय अवकाश के रुप में मनाया जाता है जब भारतीय ब्रिटिश शासन से अपने राष्ट्र की स्वतंत्रता की लंबी गाथा को याद करते है। ये आजादी मिली ढ़ेरों आंदोलनों और सैकड़ों स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की आहुतियों से। आजादी के बाद पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरु भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री बने जिन्होंने दिल्ली के लाल किले पर झंडा फहराया।
इस दिन को शिक्षक, विद्यार्थी, अभिवाहक और सभी लोग झंडारोहण के साथ राष्ट्रगान कर मनाते हैं। हमारा तिरंगा झंडा भारत के प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा दिल्ली के लाल किले पर भी फहराया जाता है। इसके बाद राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को 21 बंदूकों की सलामी के साथ उस पर हेलिकॉप्टर से पुष्प वर्षा कर सम्मान दिया जाता है। हमारे तिरंगे झंडे में केसरिया हिम्मत और बलिदान को, सफेद रंग शांति औ सच्चाई को तो वहीं हरा रंग विश्वास और शौर्य को प्रदर्शित करता है।
हमारे तिरंगे के मध्य एक अशोक चक्र होता है जिसमें 24 तिलियाँ होती है। इस खास दिन पर हम भगत सिंह, सुखदेब, राजगुरु गांधीजी जैसे उन साहसी पुरुषों के महान बलिदानों को भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में उनके अविस्मरणीय योगदानों के लिये याद करते है। इस दौरान स्कूलों में विद्यार्थी स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों पर व्याख्यान देते हैं तथा परेड में भाग लेते हैं। इस खास मौके को सभी अपनी-अपनी तरह मनाते है,कोई देशभक्ति की फिल्में देखता है तो कोई अपने परिवार और मित्रों के साख बाहर घूमने जाता है साथ ही कुछ लोग स्वतंत्रता दिवस के कार्यक्रमों में भाग लेते हैं।
